The USA election will be the big ticket item of 2024 if it happens. The demonrats do not want to ever give up power in a free election and trudy will want the same result in Canada. I believe that biden will be removed as a candidate and newsom will be installed along with a new running mate for vice president.
As for Canada the tax increases start in a few hours. Carbon tax, CPP and EI premium increases on 1 January. The carbon tax increases again on 1 April along with an increase to the liquor tax. People are being squeezed more and more for what little money they have at the end of the month.
