MY EXPERT OPINION AS BEING IN ALBERTA FOR 55 YEARS DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THERE IS "NO" WAY ALBERTA CAN BE IN AGREEANCE TO ANYTHING THAT OTTAWA HAS TO PUT ONTO THE TABLE! ALBERTA'S BEST OPTION IS TO COMPLETELY SEVER OUR TIES TO CANADA, AND IF ANY TALKS TO CANADA BE AS A COUNTRY SEPARATED FROM ALBERTA! ALBERTA CAN AND WILL BE SUCCESSFUL ON THEIR OWN WHETHER TALKING TO CANADA, THE USA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY WHO WISHES TO UTILIZE OUR RESOURCES! IT IS TIME!

Yes I have been here my whole life, and Ottawa never has cared about Alberta. They don’t now. Scott Moe tried to talk to carney re tariffs and got nowhere. BQ takes our oil and gas, via US, and equalization payments this year of $18 billion for granted. That should not be!!

Then why did all Canadian taxpayers paid for Alberta pipelines? Pay Canada back please! She’s a jackass

Expand full comment
Elaine Hlushak's avatar

All Canadians certainly benefit from the income of oil and gas! Transfer payments alone from Alberta and Saskatchewan support the rest of Canada

Expand full comment
Whitedog61's avatar

You should look up how transfer payments work.

The rest of Canada pays sales tax.

Expand full comment
Elaine Hlushak's avatar

I’m quite sure I have a pretty good grasp on the von rot. And provincial sales tax have nothing to do with transfer payments

Expand full comment
Gail Littleton's avatar

And if you dig into it, the company who was building the pipeline backed out due to the ridiculous and numerous regulations. So therefore the taxpayer had to pay for it. It would have cost $0 ,but cost billions...over rbudget as usual. With all the Liberal scandals I wonder which liberal ministers benefitted from it?!]

Sharon Goldsack's avatar

Alberta has paid billions over our time. Decades. Equalization payments would not be necessary if Quebec had their own oil and gas,but prefer to siphon from alberta. That gravy train is running down.

You'd better check out Juno news where Candice Malcom speaks with a constitutional lawyer regarding this. And s for paying canada back, alberta has paid far more than they ever got back in transfer payments.

When will Ontario have a serious premiere interested in prosperity and the well being of the majority instead of minority

Expand full comment
Richard TerHaar's avatar

Every province has different resources to fuel economic growth. It’s up to each provinces premier to tap into those resources as part of their economic growth. There’s only one reason the Liberals choose foreign oil over Alberta’s.

Expand full comment
Whitedog61's avatar

It doesn’t work that way.

Do you have any idea?

Why doesn’t Alberta refine and export the petroleum?

I guess it’s easy to gripe in simple terms.

Expand full comment
Richard TerHaar's avatar

So a pipeline east wouldn’t allow us to refine oil or ship it abroad?

Expand full comment
Whitedog61's avatar

I am saying Alberta could refine oil in province. Easier to ship a refined product.

How wealthy would we be if the 4 western provinces split , kept out the migrating workers taking our jobs from out east, and kept our money in our provinces. If we found new outlets for gas, oil lumber etc. and worked with Trump and other markets leaving the east to manage their invasion of migrants and learn to live within their means without our help.

We never get a say the way things are.

Thinking that first nations and all of us would do better , really how could we do worse?? Quit subsidizing new comers wages, and deport any not learning English or finding jobs or overstaying visas. Tax payers can't keep up with the support of free loaders.

Canadian born kids get first crack at jobs and housing.

Trump is rebuilding a nation.. what are we doing?

She will definitely need to be an “IRON LADY” too to withstand the massive amount of misinformation and misinformation that will he hurled at her from, especially, Eastern Canada and factions within her own government.
