Enerplus Shareholders Approve Takeover by Chord Energy
Enerplus Corp. shareholders have overwhelmingly approved a takeover by U.S. company Chord Energy Corp., with 99.6% voting in favor. The deal, which includes a combination of Chord stock and cash, has also received approval under the Investment Canada Act. Once finalized, Chord shareholders will hold about two-thirds of the merged company, while Enerplus shareholders will own one-third. The transaction is expected to close around May 31, pending court approval and other customary conditions.
